Emmanuel Tenkorang undertakes research in the general areas of environment and development and rural development. Some of his areas of interest include mining and its relationship with local development, rural agricultural development and local level development. He also lectures at the Institute in Research Methods, Environment and Development, Social Statistics, Environmental Policy and others. His PhD thesis is trying to analyze the interaction between mining governance institutions, traditional institutions and authorities and how these interactions affect local level development in resource rich communities.
