Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe gained independence from the UK in April 1980. Harare is the capital of this landlocked country, located in Southern Africa between South Africa and Zambia. The total area of 390,757 sq. km, slightly larger than Montana, hosts a total population of 12,619,600. English is the official language, though other languages used include Shona, Sindebele (the language of the Ndebele, sometimes called Ndebele), and numerous but minor tribal dialects. The climate is primarily tropical, with a rainy season from November to March, and Zimbabwe is known for natural resources such as coal, chromium ore, asbestos, gold, nickel, copper, iron ore, vanadium, lithium, tin, and platinum group metals.
