Research/Teaching Specialization: Professor Duanmu completed his doctorate in Linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1990, and joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 1991. He specializes in Chinese linguistics, phonology and phonetics; languages of the world and general linguistics.
