NEW International Studies Major!
Spring Issue: International Connections
The Center for International & Comparative Studies (CICS) focuses on topics of global significance that cut across geographic boundaries. The center’s main themes are:
Human Rights
International Development, and
International Security & Cooperation
CICS provides opportunities for students, faculty, and professionals at U-M to study, conduct research, or work abroad.
CICS is home to the International Studies (IS) minor, a multi-disciplinary program in which students build their own curriculum.
CICS is also home to the International Studies (IS) major concentration in which students choose a path from four tracks with a specific disciplinary focus to examine global issues.
Upcoming Events
CICS events will resume in September 2009, and will include the following events, among others:
The Rackham Distinguished Human Rights Lecture Series
The CICS Human Rights Fellow Lecture
The CICS International Development and Security Fellow Lecture
CICS will also host a Roundtable Discussion to launch the new International Studies Major concentration to begin next year.
