    Tetsuya Sato, a native of Hokkaido, Japan, has been teaching Japanese at U.S. universities for more than a decade. His professional interests include issues in language teaching/learning on the one hand and the discursive construction of social asymmetries on the other. He wrote a dissertation exploring the relationship between language and desire in online personal ads in Japanese.
