In the current issue of Beyond Borders, CJS director Jonathan Zwicker relates his experience last summer leading a group of U-M undergraduates on their exploration of Japan. The students were enrolled in the Global Course Connections (GCC) program in modern Japanese literature, and had completed a course in Ann Arbor on the topic during the winter term. Thus prepared, and with Zwicker at the helm, they were dispatched to Tokyo in May to be immersed in the culture they had been absorbing in print.
