CKS Special Lecture

"US-Korean Economic Relationship and Significance of Korea-US FTA"
Guest Speaker: Honorable Sung-Hwan Son, Consul General of the Republic Of Korea
Location: Michigan League-Vandenberg Auditorium Room
The Honorable Sung-Hwan Son has been Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago since 2007, after posts in Russia, Kazakhstan and other eastern European Countries in a thirty-year career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Director General of European Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security in South Korea from 2005-2007. He will discuss the current status and recent developments in Korea U.S. relations and their implications for the two countries’ overall bilateral relationship.

CKS will hold the "Distinguished Korean Studies Scholars Lecture Series" during the 2009-2010 academic year. The series will highlight the recent work of leading scholars of Korean Studies. All the lectures will be held at 4pm, 1080 S. University, Suite 1636, School of Social Work Building. The first guest speaker is Professor Namhee Lee from UCLA who will give a talk on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.  

Korea Foundation President Yim Sung-joon visited the “Woon-Hyung Lee and Korea Foundation Gallery of Korean Art” in March 25, 2009.
