The Fund for Turkish Studies supports the continuation and expansion of Turkish Studies at the University of Michigan.

The Richard P. Mitchell Memorial Prize was initiated in 1986 to honor the late Professor Mitchell, who taught Middle Eastern and North African studies at the University of Michigan from 1956 to 1983. The prize has been awarded annually since 1987, and is offered to an incoming or continuing graduate student in the Center's Modern Middle Eastern and North African Studies MA program.

The Research on Levantine Minorities endowment fund was founded in honor of former U-M professors George Grassmuck and William S. Schorger, the founder of CMENAS. Its purpose is to promote research on Levantine minorities. Fellowships are awarded to qualified graduate students researching minorities in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Turkish Studies Colloquium (TSC) sponsors monthly lectures on issues related to Turkish studies including politics, literature, current events, the arts, and much more. The TSC relies upon support from the Center and donations for all administrative expenses.
