    Jesse Kauffman studies the history of German-Polish relations from the eighteenth century to the present as well as modern German political, diplomatic, and military history. His dissertation, which he is currently turning into a book, examines the German military occupation of Poland during the First World War. He frequently reviews books and films about the Great War for the H-German discussion list.

    Kauffman teaches courses on general European history from the seventeenth century to the present, European military history, the two World Wars, and the Cold War.
