Teacher Outreach

CREES, a U.S. Department of Education-designated National Resource Center, provides a range of programs and resources to support greater knowledge about Russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia among K-16 educators and their students. The Center organizes and participates in workshops for K-14 teachers, commissions preparation of curriculum units, maintains a library of teaching materials, and serves as a reference resource for information about the region's 27 countries. Since 1983, CREES has provided grants to post-secondary faculty to support short visits to Ann Arbor to consult with University of Michigan experts to develop area-focused curricula.
