About the CWPS Faculty

The faculty roles in the Center for World Performance Studies consist of the Director, Steering Committee, and faculty affiliate status.  

The Director position is currently in transition. 

The CWPS Steering Committee members are:

Judith Becker, Ethnomusicology;
Glenda Dickerson, Theatre and Drama;
Frieda Ekotto, Romance Languages and Literatures and CAAS;
Jessica Fogel, Dance;
Beth Genne, Dance and Residential College;
Katherine Mendeloff, Residential College;
Mbala Nkanga,Theatre and Drama;
Robin Wilson, Dance

The Steering Committee members, in addition to recommending students and artists for CWPS programs, review and provide detailed feedback on the annual applications for the Graduate Student Residency Program and the Artist-in-Residence Program.  

Faculty Affiliates

Affiliation with the Center comes with certain obligations: presentations in the Fall Ethnography and Roundtable series in order to share research findings and methodologies with the graduate student residents; nominations to the artist-in-residence program of artists from outside the US with whom faculty would like to work and who will make a contribution to the CWPS mission and to the university at large; nominations of students from the faculty member department to our graduate student residency program; and participation in and support by the faculty member and students for our public events.
