Why I Give
“I give to build recognition and respect for the history and culture of my homeland.”
-- the late Elder Sang-Yong Nam, former President and CEO of Nam Building Management Co
$4.3 million, Nam Center for Korean Studies
The International Institute houses 18 centers and programs focused on the study of specific world regions and global themes. Our centers rank among the nation’s finest in their respective fields of study and bring together faculty experts from across the U-M campus and around the world. Faculty and students affiliated with the institute work to enhance our understanding of important international issues that cut across academic disciplines and national borders.
Your gift will have a direct impact on the lives of current U-M students and faculty members through the many important programs we provide. Gifts of any size are welcome. Even a small gift can support a student participating in an overseas internship or provide a graduate student the chance to study a less commonly taught language during a summer abroad.
We welcome the opportunity to meet with individuals who would like to learn more about the International Institute. Please contact Douglas Kennedy at (734) 763-9200 to discuss how you can become a valued supporter of the International Institute at the University of Michigan.
