Latin American & Caribbean Studies

Our People

Being as tiny a program as LACS is, we don't have our own LACS faculty, but we have many affiliated faculty at the University of Michigan who teach about or specialize in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

LACS has 4 regular staff, yet we were able to become a US Department of Education-recognized National Resource Center - a prestigious recognition reserved for only a few universities with area studies centers that serve as national resources for research, training, and outreach related to specific world regions.
