Funded by the China Scholarship Council of the People's Republic of China, this fellowship provides tuition and registration fees, accommodations, basic learning materials, medical insurance, and a small monthly stipend to study in China of RMB$1,100 (approximately US$160). The Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies (LRCCS) will provide an additional US$2,000 toward travel. The recipient is able to choose from a variety of different institutions in China and may hold a fellowship for either the academic year or for a shorter period. Previous knowledge of Chinese is not necessary.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Applicants must be a graduate or advanced undergraduate student in Chinese studies at the University of Michigan.
- Applicants must have enrolled at the University of Michigan for at least one term prior to acceptance of the award.
- Applicants must submit the LRCCS Funding Application and the required materials indicated on the application.
