The Nam Center for Korean Studies provides research fellowships for U-M students conducting research related to Korean studies. These fellowships may be used for research-related travel to Korea, research travel to domestic archives, libraries, and museums, expenses for data gathering, participation in academic workshops and meetings, or any other research-related expenses.
Applicants should note that they are required to apply to Rackham Graduate School, the International Institute, and their respective departments or professional schools for travel funds before applying to the Nam Center. Applicants must submit detailed receipts and a report within four weeks of their return. The funds will be paid as reimbursements of expenses in compliance with the university and International Institute's travel guidelines. Candidates must secure funding approval prior to travel.
All students who are currently registered at the University of Michigan.

Funding Amount and Disbursement
The amount of fellowship varies, but the maximum funding is $1,500.
Students who are awarded fellowships will be required to complete a short fellowship report summarizing their activities and expenses. Reports are due to the Nam Center administrator within 30 days after the fellowship recipient's proposed research is completed.
