RSS Special Events

The Nam Center hosts and participates in special events such as lectures, symposia, and workshops related to Korean Studies throughout the year. Please refer to a specific event for dates, locations, and detailed information.

Each year we host a residency that showcases traditional Korean culture. In March 2016, artist Aimee Lee will be introducing the art of Hanji (handmade Korean paper) in a series of public workshops across SE Michigan.

The center also annually hosts a  Sang-Yong Nam Memorial Lecture that celebrates the contributions made by Elder Nam to the center, and at which time the Sang-Yong Nam Award is presented. For more information about the memorial lecture, including past speakers and event information, please check out our archive.
