2010 CES-EUC SUMMER RESEARCH AND INTERNSHIP GRANTS

  

Call for proposals

Deadline: March 15, 2010

 

The Center for European Studies-European Union Center seeks applications from University of Michigan undergraduate and graduate students for grants ranging from $500 to $1,500 towards summer research or internships. The grants are intended to promote the study of Europe and European integration.
 
Applicants for research grants may be at preliminary or more advanced stages of their research; applicants for internships should be prepared to identify the venue for their internship in a governmental agency, business, or non-governmental institution in the region. Funding can be used for travel, conference fees, purchase of research materials, and fees for educational opportunities not provided by U-M.

 

U-M undergraduate students are encouraged to apply for the EU Studies Summer Program in Brussels and may receive funding for this program by applying for CES-EUC Summer Research and Internship Grants. Applicants must submit the following application materials:

• Summer funding application;
• statement of purpose (1-3 pages) including proposed time period, institutional affiliation, your reasons for pursuing the project, and how this experience will contribute to your career goals;
• two letters of recommendation (preferably from faculty advisors);
• budget worksheet;
• curriculum vitae or resume; and
• official University of Michigan transcript.

A written report based on the project will be required at its conclusion.
