2009 Pan-Asian Buddhist Film Festival
The Center for Korean Studies, in a collaboration with the Center for Japanese Studies and the Center for Chinese Studies, is participating in the 2009 Pan-Asian Buddhist Film Festival. This film festival is designed to be a collection of educational materials to be used by K-14 teachers in the classroom. The first film, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring was screened on October 31st at the Michigan Theatre. The following film, Shisha no Sho, presented by the Center for Japanese Studies, will be screened Saturday, November 12th, at 9 AM, in Room 1644 at the International Institute. The final film of the festival, Journey to the West, presented by the Center for Chinese Studies, will be screened on Sunday, December 13th, at 2 PM, at the Ann Arbor District Library on 343 S. What Our Center Offers
The centers at the University of Michigan International Institute work collaboratively and individually to provide a comprehensive set of resources about teaching globally. The Center for Korean Studies, a recipient of Title VI funds through the U.S. Department of Education, offers a variety of activities and services that can be used for education on Korean Diaspora K-14 classrooms.
