Doctoral Programs
While the Center for Japanese Studies does not offer its own doctoral program, students can pursue doctoral degrees with a Japan focus in a number of departments and schools in the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies. The Center supports a community of about one hundred doctoral and professional students with an interest in Japan in the humanities, social sciences, business, law, engineering, and medicine.
Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies website contains a listing of the various graduate programs of study and their contact information. You may also get information from individual departments. Students apply directly to the departments and schools.
The Center for Japanese Studies offers fellowships for Japan-related study for graduate students in all schools and departments at the University of Michigan. Please see the Funding for Students section for more information.
