Courses in Chinese Studies

The University of Michigan offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate Chinese Language and Chinese Studies courses each semester. These courses are offered by LS&A departments, as well as the Law School, the Ross School of Business and the Ford School of Public Policy. The Center for Chinese Studies offers the following courses:

 

  • CCS 501 Social Scientific Studies of Historical and Contemporary China
  • CCS 502 Humanistic Studies of Historical and Contemporary China
  • CCS 650 Independent Study in Chinese Studies
  • CCS 700 MA Thesis Writing Class

A note on course numbers: Courses numbered 100-400 are for undergraduates, and 500 and above are for graduate students.  Some, but not all courses at the 400 level are approved for graduate credit.

A note to CCS MA and Certificate students: make sure to check with the student services coordinator in CCS or your advisor to be sure that the courses you select fulfill program requirements.
