Because of ongoing events in Ukraine, L'viv University is on strike and we have to postpone this event. In the words of Viktor Susak, "Sorry for inconvenience! We are reconstructing the country!"
L'viv - Viktor Susak, Associate Professor, Chair of History and Theory of Sociology, Ivan Franko National University of L'viv
Ann Arbor - Paula Osborn, Master's Student in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies/Public Policy, University of Michigan
Protests in Ukraine have been ongoing since November 21, 2013. The Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies is presenting University of Michigan students the opportunity to speak with students at Ivan Franko National University of L'viv and other Ukrainian universities live via video conference. Discussion points will include:
- What caused EuroMaidan? What is EuroMaidan fighting for and against?
- What caused your personal participation in EuroMaidan events? What actions are/were you involved in mostly enthusiastically?
- What do you think about the role of the United States, the EU, and Russia in EuroMaidan events?
- What role does regionalism play in Ukraine for EuroMaidan events?
We encourage all interested students to come, regardless of their level of knowledge about current events in Ukraine. Below are several relevant links for anyone who wants some more information before attending.
