People

Faculty, students, visiting scholars, and others affiliated with the Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies at the University of Michigan share common interest in advancing understanding about how democracies emerge and the conditions necessary for assuring and extending democracy and freedom.

The activities of WCED are informed by a Steering Committee composed of U-M faculty and by a Policy Board and Advisory Council comprised of distinguished public figures and scholars from across North America, Europe, and Eurasia.
