Opportunities and Grants

Special Africa-related projects, initiatives, or collaborations may be available from the African Studies Center on a limited basis. Requests between $4,000-$10,000 will be referred to the ASC Executive Committee for review. To be considered for funding, requests must include a proposal (limit five pages), the total budget, the amount requested from ASC, and a list of other project sponsors/co-sponsors. It is expected that applicants will seek funding from multiple sources. Priority is given to applicants who have not received prior ASC funding and to projects focused on Sub-Saharan Africa.

Note: ASC funding google forms are restricted to umich email addresses to make sure we do not receive funding applications from people outside of the University. Please be sure to access forms from your umich gmail rather than your personal account.
