2014 African Students Association Culture Show. "L'Afrique Magnifique"

Thursday, March 27, 2014
12:00 AM
Power Center

This event is hosted by the African Students Association

L'Afrique Magnifique (LAM) will be the 16th annual culture show of the African Students Association. The show will be an exhibition of cultures from all over Africa. From songs in different African languages to the performance of traditional dances and through the use of masquerades, the show will be a celebration of Africa's diversity beauty and its potential. The goal of L'Afrique Magnifique is to use Art to show Africa's greatness. To use it to transcend what the attendees have seen in the media, to highlight those notions, to alter them, to clarify them. We hope that people leave the show with more understanding and more appreciation for Africa. Seyi Brown, a Nigerian comedian and host of the Africa Channel’s show “Africa Laughs”, will host the show. Seyi will also be performing a comedy showcase. Additional performances by The Zuzu Acrobat Dancers, SplashJosh, Egyptian Student's Association and others.

Doors open at 7pm

Student tickets: $5.00

Non-Student tickets: $8.00
