Faculty Funding

CREES Faculty Conference Travel Grants

Subject to availability of funding, awards will be made to CREES Faculty Associates who will present REES-focused papers or serve as chairs or discussants for REES-focused sessions at regional, national, or international conferences.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and must be submitted in advance of the conference. Awards will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds are expended. Since CREES funds are limited, we ask that faculty draw on other sources of conference funding first.

Applicants must submit an application form and supporting documents noted on the form to

Weiser Faculty Grants

CREES, along with the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia, seeks proposals for faculty-led research projects that engage European and Eurasian contextual expertise and/or broader thematic focus on emerging democracies. University of Michigan faculty associated with CES, CPPS, CREES, and/or WCED are all eligible. Please see the Weiser Faculty Grants Call for Proposals for more information.

Other Requests

On a case-by-case basis and contingent on the availability of funds, the CREES Director will consider other requests for modest funding from CREES Faculty Associates. Please complete a Weiser Faculty Grant request form and send it with supporting materials to

Faculty and artists from selected countries of Europe and Eurasia are invited to submit applications for Ronald and Eileen Weiser Professional Development Awards.

Faculty who lead students on trips abroad or who are engaged in research or other work connected with academic, professional, or University-related business should review U-M's Travel Policy.
