We promote INNOVATION in teaching and research by fostering collaborations across international borders, the schools and colleges of the university, and traditional intellectual and geographical boundaries, incentivizing faculty to generate novel answers to pressing global problems and bold new approaches to international education.
- We foster collaborations across international borders and traditional, intellectual, and geographical boundaries including the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-Africa and the II Enterprise Fund.
- We build connections between LSA and the schools, programs, and institutions across the University and within the community by partnering with these other units to create unique events that appeal to a broad multicultural audience.
- We enable faculty to generate novel answers to pressing global problems and bold new approaches to international and area studies education. We are a national leader in distance learning. Our faculty has created unique curricular opportunities for U-M students and students throughout the CIC member universities: the Korean Studies e-School and the Digital Islamic Studies Curriculum.
