The Weiser Center for Emerging Democracies (WCED) presented a panel presentation on September 29, 2018 on "How Democracies Live and Die." The panelists were Steven Levitsky, professor of government, Harvard University; Thomas Carothers, senior vice president for studies, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; and Didi Kuo, research scholar, Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law, Stanford University.The Michigan Daily was at the presentation and wrote an article focused on Levitsky's remarks, especially regarding the topic of American politics and the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.
